NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio - On Friday at Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative, members of all ages are invited to “Family Fun Day,” a free open house-style event at its office on Friday, June 26 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at its North Baltimore office just off I-75 at exit 167.

This year’s event will be the biggest yet, with CFL Charlie on hand to greet attendees, more inflatables than ever before, giveaways -- and free CFLs too. New this year members can attend one or all of Hancock-Wood’s “Learning Sessions”:

11:00 am - Climate change legislation & cap-and-trade
12:00 pm - Energy efficiency
12:30 pm - New outage management system demo 
1:00 pm - Hancock-Wood retail rate proposal

Among the other event highlights: (rain or shine)
• Meet CFL Charlie
• Jump on huge bouncy inflatable games
• Free hot dogs, chips, cookies, drinks and sno cones (while supplies last)
• Free water jug to each membership in attendance (while supplies last)
• Tours of the new Hancock-Wood office, opened July 2008
• See a line truck from the inside
• Meet the employees who provide power to customers everyday
• See the cooperative in action
• Prism Propane will fill grill tanks while you wait for only $10 (plus tax).

Nearly $500,000 in grants have been distributed in the last decade through grants and Operation Round Up funds to individuals and organizations in need. Hancock-Wood keeps Member owners informed about legislation that could impact their rights or lead to unstable energy costs. Your voice has been heard at the highest court in the land. In response to petitions by electric co-ops, states and industry, the U.S. Supreme Court granted a stay of the Clean Power Plan. This is an unprecedented act by the Supreme Court.
