Weatherization Rebate for DIY Installation

The most cost effective way of making your home more energy efficient and comfortable often starts by making improvements to the building shell - adding or improving insulation and sealing hidden air leaks and drafts. 

Rebate: 10% of the cost - maximum rebate of $500
Receive a 10% rebate for qualifying insulation, air sealing products, windows, skylights and doors
(see Eligible Items below).


Hancock-Wood's rebate budget is limited. Offer is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Offer expires when funds are depleted.


  • This rebate is available only to residential Members of Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative.
  • Member must install weatherization products in an existing home between Jan. 1, 2018 and Dec. 31, 2018.
  • Complete rebate form and submit a copy of your receipt(s).

Eligible items:

  • Insulation: Typical bulk insulation products qualify including batts, rolls, blow-in fibers, rigid boards, expanding spray and pour-in-place.
  • Air sealing products: Typical air sealing products qualify including weather stripping, spray foam in can designed to air seal and house wrap. 
  • New windows, skylights and doors: Products must be ENERGY STAR® certified. Not every window, door or skylight in the home must be upgraded to qualify.


  • This rebate covers up to 10% of the total cost of the eligible products listed above with a maximum rebate of $500.
  • Improvements must be made to your existing home. New home construction does not qualify.
  • Rebate does not include installation costs. Different rebates are available for professional weatherization.
  • A maximum of two rebates may be paid per residential Member home from Jan. 1, 2018 and Dec. 31, 2018.

  2. Complete and submit the rebate form including a copy of your purchase receipt.
  3. Rebate will be in the form of a bill credit unless indicated by Member.
